Late night hijacking

rufus-squinty.
Rufus reporting in. Yes I hijacked Mom’s laptop. She’s too busy arguing with the American public on who should and shouldn’t be voted off the American Idol island. (she made the same choices as the American public so I think it’s ok) Like I care. And turn the volume down just a little will you?

Momma got herself a new toy. Toys? If I need a toy I have an entire toy box filled with them. OK so granted new ones show up on occasion but this toy Momma got, it doesn’t look like very much fun. It’s made of plastic and wood. And the wood has holes in it. And I am not allowed to bite it. And then she strung string on it. Ruby of course was entranced by it. I thought it was as boring as the big other toy she calls baby wolf. This one she calls Emilia and it comes from Sweden. Momma is all smiley because she thinks she found a rigid heddle loom she really likes. Momma did not take pictures of it because she was just experimenting.

Remember Momma was all thrilled last week because she finished plying the BFL? I have no idea what a biffle is. This is what was making her so giggly.

Did you hear about Ruby showing off Sunday night? About a half dozen times a year Daddy and Momma will BBQ a steak out on the grill. (what a waste of good raw cow I say) Sunday it was a bone-in New York. 18 oz with bone and about an inch thick. They split the steak and took it off the bone. When they were done there was still a tiny bit of juicy red meat left on the bone so Daddy put it on a large plate and put it down next to our water bowl. Both Ruby and I came running. All during the evening we’d take turns trying to get the bits of meat off the bone, occasionally dragging it across the kitchen.

By 9 pm our initial fun was gone so I found a soft spot on the couch to do some pre-sleep napping. At about 11 pm, Ruby came trotting across the family room with the bone in her mouth and dropped it next to Momma. She was so proud of her conquest! Momma was proud too because this is the first time in 6 years that Ruby has “hunted” something and presented it to Momma! Silly little girl. Momma impresses pretty easy.

Momma and Daddy are impressed with the boy too. (Momma even does a silly happy dance) So far he has received acceptance letters from three of the grad schools he applied to. He even gets to take trips to the schools in March so he can make a decision on where he wants to go. The boy is still waiting to hear from five more places. Only one is in Washington.

Well time for tonight’s pre-sleep nap. Rufus signing off! Oh and Momma turned something like 168 cat years today. She is older than kitty litter. But you didn’t hear that from me. Right?

Rufus, you are quite the articulate and eloquent kitty, “Older than kitty litter” … you make me laugh. I’m glad that you and Ruby had fun with the bone. The “biffle” is alluring and beautiful to humans. Perhaps if a dangly bit was hanging off then kitties would like it too. Can’t wait to see pictures of your Mama’s new toy.

Did you wish your momma happy birthday, I hope?? You’re a good boy, not playing with the strings on Momma’s new toys.

Rufus, you are one handsome dude! Sounds like your momma had a good birthday. Obviously the world has its priorities straight for once. Even Ruby (the suck-up) brought presents. (Slightly used presents still count when your kitty brings them.)
