I’m in the middle of planning scarf #2 and knew I wanted to use the lavender merino/mohair blend I’d spun this summer for the weft. About 320 yards minus the little I used for my sample. I went to one of the LYS today to find something to use as warp and came home with some heathery lavender. Nothing else really looked nice side by side with it. Now I think I did too much of a matchie matchie job on it. What do you think?
Can you even tell the handspun from the store bought? Any ideas of colors to go with for a more contrasting warp?

It is very pretty as it is, but I understand wanting to show off the handspun. I haven’t experimented with colors in weaving a lot yet, but I would probably try either cream, a light yellow, or a subtle pink. I hope you figure out something you like!

I love the scarf like it is. There is a lot of depth to the texture. I’m terrible with color combinations though so I have no suggestions to make the warp stand out without ruining the whole thing.

I think it’s a nice, subtle combo. I think you’d be ok with using them together.
If you’re looking for more of a contrast, maybe go with a darker color like a deep burgundy. A darker color would recede into the design, and your handspun would pop. If oyu wanted to go the other way, maybe something like a soft (almost minty) green could work, too.

Perhaps a dark forest green would be appropriate? You might like a blue-black too. Of course, I am a big fan of purple with some type of brown.
