Never play poker with a Maine Coon

Saturday morning was spa day here at House of Kitkatknit. I was able to get both kids their summer haircut appointments back to back on the same day! Cause for celebration. We make sure we don’t talk about the fact that spa day is coming up and I move the cat crate to the freezer room at least 24 hours in advance. At 7:40 am I poured breakfast krunchies in the bowls and Rufus ran to breakfast, Ruby ran under the kitchen table and could not be talked or bribed out. Not even with stinky goodness. How in heck did she know it was spa day? Guess I don’t have much of a poker face do I? Both, once they have their summer haircuts, seem to enjoy having 3 pounds less fur to contend with for the hot summer months. Rufus has cheetah dots on his belly.

Ruby looks like a 2 x 6 with legs. She is soooooooo skinny!

I think I’ve mentioned our Momma Robin. She and Daddy Robin have been working overtime feeding babies. We can’t believe how many trips they both take to get earthworms to feed those hungry mouths. We haven’t seen or heard the babies but the worms are disappearing as fast as they can arrive back at the nest.

Knucks number one is within 5 minutes of being done. And I have three of the fingers already done on number two.

Talked to Graham this afternoon. He just has two weeks left, we pick him up on June 13 and drive him to Pullman WA on the 15th. He’s accepted an undergraduate research position for 9 weeks at Washington State University. It’s in the Characterization of Advanced Materials. Right up his alley! We think he’ll enjoy it but will be far away from his sweetie again. (and will be on WSU’s junk mail list forever). We can’t believe Graham is 2 weeks away from being a senior in college! Soon he’ll be doing the grad school search. He takes his Washington State Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (the undergraduate version of PE certification) in October. He’ll also be taking his first of his theology classes. Time do fly!

Oh! Naked kitties! Eeeep!!! Ruby and Mayhem must be built the same. If May’s little hips are wider than 1.5″, I’d be surprised.

Would a shaved pussy joke be completely out of line? Probably so. Love the tummies! Give Graham a big squeeze and tell him wtg from one of your fiber buddies. There was a Gary Larson Far Side cartoon which featured two birds sitting on the edge of a baby buggy. One bird is saying to the other, “I keep stuffing it full of worms, but it just won’t get full!” I imagine it feels like that to the parents of those robins. The knucks look wonderful!

Congrats to Graham. I finished the 1st Gansey Sock and now have to force myself to start the 2nd one…is that a common problem? I want to start something else (new & different). hls
