Spinnin’ wheel got to go ’round

Another beautiful fall day with leaves just brilliant! Here’s the Mountain Colors Bearfoot scarf Knitting Hubby is almost done with.

I finished the first Composed Mitt last night, and hours later still hadn’t woven in all the ends. I have about 10 more to do tonight.

Jessica, Kim, Nancy and I got together this afternoon for another little spin in. This one involved a break for baked goods including rhubarb bars, white chocolate chunk brownies and apple pie ala vanilla bean mode. We had Nancy try out the Traveller without spinning, just getting the treadle going, then transferred her to Kim’s Louet for the actual spinning. Didn’t Nancy do great!

Jessica was trying to clear off some spindles. This is a wool silk blend in a lace weight.jessica-spin.jpg
Kim was working on the roving Jessica brought back from OFF. I’d never seen her Kromski Symphony before. A beautiful wheel.

I’m just about finished with my first 2 oz of the OFF roving.

Talk about eye candy! I scrolled up and down the page gazing at your pictures for several minutes before realizing there was actual text. Someday I hope to earn enough Brownie points to warrant a vacation over to join you all in one of your spin/knitting sessions. Nancy is so hooked… she’ll have at least one wheel before Thanksgiving. The mitts and scarf match each other brilliantly. Was this planned? I believe Jessica is a reincarnated master spinner. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Mountain colors scarf is most excellent and the mitt looks fab. Does this mean just one more to go?

All so colorful, I love it! My “Celebration” mitts yarn is a 2-ply. I’ve done Navajo plying twice, and it was horrible, so I’ll do anything else before I get back to that. ;o)
