Cisco Kid was a friend of mine

Yesterday we attempted to hit all 5 local Alpaca farms in a record breaking 4 hours. Didn’t make it! We were so enamoured by the 1 hour old cria at our first stop that we lost track of time. He was so young that he still had some damp lookiing places on him.

We then fell in love with the rest of the herd. These are only a few at Yakima River Alpacas. I bought a blanket and second cut from Cisco. I think that Yakima River Alpacas had the softest blankets and Sandy has plenty more high quality beautiful ones for sale. Her contact info is in the farm’s link. Kim, Jessica and even Nancy bought blankets too. Nancy doesn’t even spin yet but we have drawn her over to the dark side. You know she’s interested when she buys a whole fleece and doesn’t even have a wheel yet. Here are cria’s born on 9/25/07.

Here’s Cisco! Look at that wry little smile.

Just some of the boys.

We made it to 4 out of 5 of the local farms before we got giddy and dizzy from hunger. The alpacas took a liking to both Blogless Kim and Knitting Fireperson Lisa.

Oh, they have such sweet little faces! The picture of Kim being adorned by the little one is priceless. So what kind of wheel do you think Nancy will buy? Taking any bets? Heh, heh, heh!

One of the vendors at our local Maple Fest was displaying their alpacas along with finished products, wool & roving. I know what you mean now…I was tempted to buy some roving…I too do not have a spinning wheel. It was just so luscious and the alpacas are SO cute!
