Move over

Move over Drop Top, Kitkatknit has a new favorite microbrew. Imperial Blond. Yum. Click here and scroll down for the description. Tastes great with their spent wheat bread and their seafood chowder!
Last night I went to a local Friday Night Knit Night! It was fun. It was held at The Knitting Grounds yarn shop, about 3 miles from our hotel. Below are two out of the three displays of local yarns, handyed and rovings.

Only in Alaska will you find a farmers market with trappers dealing in furs.
We went to the Qiviut store in Anchorage. Wow. Double wow. $$$ wow. So I bought 5 $1 raffle tickets to win a qiviut blanket in a December 15th drawing. Can you imagine a qiviut blanket?
Can you imagine Beluga whales feeding right off shore in the Cook Inlet? We lucked out yesterday. Got to see dozens of them feeding in the current. When we drove back a few hours later they were gone.

Well we have attempted to pack, have Knitting Hubby’s wake up call scheduled, (his plane to Buffalo leaves 3 hours before mine home does), and are going out to eat in a few minutes. Back for more sushi at Peters Sushi Spot. Yum. (did I tell you how I lost 9 pounds over the summer? Well a moot point now…) Sometime next week I’ll count the number of photos for the contest, load a bunch to my Flickr account and do a better write up of the trip. Catch you on the flip side!

As non-correct as furs may be these days, I LOVE me some red fox fur. It’s really beautiful stuff.
Glad to see you’re have such a wide and varied trip.
