Had to laugh as my daughter and a few of her friends and i were discussing this the other day. They had a box dvd set of one of the shows and yes, lol, i watched the original’s on our 13 inch black and white tv which only got 2 channels with it’s rabbit ears, 3 channels if it was snowing!
I could not post any photos but did mention your contest on my blog. I had just taken a sock class in september and was knitting socks, and scarves for everyone at work and immediate family.

I wasn’t blogging at this time last year but I was doing a pair of socks that were too big but-I was goin in to the de’nile stage of knitting. Kept knitting.I remember watching these cartoons, I liked fractured fairy tales the best. I’m 45 so I saw them the first time around!!

I loved watching – I was born roughly when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I was just trying to madly finish up a jacket I was knitting. This is easy to recall because my birthday is on the 22nd and I wanted to wear it for my birthday.
By the way, it looks like I’ll be comment #22 which should be an omen. 🙂

Roughly a year ago, I was knitting the baby bolero from LMKG (I believe) and working on my first design (a diamond pattern cable scarf for my papa). I wasn’t blogging as frequently back then as I am now, which isn’t saying much but there you have it. Btw, I remember Rocky and Bullwinkle coming on on Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid. I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle. I was in Jr. High the first time it was on. My favorite part of the show was the poems Bullwinkle did. A year ago I was knitting washcloths like mad. Every pattern I could find got made in a day. It was like an obsession.

Last year, I was gazing sorrowfully at a mound of acrylic yarn that I had purchased 15 years ago…with no pattern in mind and too many mismatched colors. Since that time, I’ve purchased yarn and made a baby blanket, an afghan, started another blanket, and finished 4/5 of a stole. Last year I was madly knitting felted purses for christmas gifts and also “rusted root”, the purses were sold to friends, and the rusted root completed over the summer.

Last year at this time, I was knitting a pair of feather and fan socks out of Schaefer Anne. And the first time I went to wash them, I discovered a running stitch that apparently escaped being bound off. I can only blame all of this on the sleep deprivation of a new mom. The short person is now letting me get a good amount of sleep.

Oh, yeah! I LOVED Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman. And Fractured Fairy Tales, and Rocky and Bulwinkle, etc.
My sons have a couple of old videos of the old show, and I love watching with them. There’s lots of humor that I KNOW I didn’t get when I was a kid.
One year ago I was blogging very sporadically. But I can still track it down: I was knitting a shrug that never got finished (I’ve picked it up again, and hope to finish this week), and some Koigu socks that eventually got stalled out and will probably be frogged soon.

So I watched the show in syndication (I didn’t know that! It was all fresh and new to me, back then in 1970!). And I loved Peabody and Sherman and Boris and Natasha and Fractured Fairy Tales and Dudley Do-Right and Snidely Whiplash, and, of course, Horse.

Ok so I made it to late to enter the contest. I wasnt old enough to see the “original” Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, but I did watchg it religiously along with Bugs Bunny and the others every Saturday morning, on a B&W w/rabbit ears/outside antenna that my dad made and no cable!!It wasnt and still isnt available in the area where i grew up :-). Last yr at this time I was trying to relearn how to knit after a devistating spinal cord injury left me with permanenet nerve damage, my “first” knitted item after that was a Dishcloth for my Occupational Therapist. Since then I have comepleted 3 pr socks, Started a Snowdrop Shawl (4times, lol),a childs hooded Cardi and my 4th pr of Sockies.
